This museum is actually more a landscape park. You can find rock formations that look like dinosaurs, Potala Palace, Sphinx, double headed horse and more. Your imagination can run wild! There is an ancient ruin on site as well. It is a nice drive through a land formation park. You can get out of the car and walk through the area as well as explorer more hidden parts with a 4x4 vehicle. About half of the park is accessible with a normal car as well. There are currently no English guides but some help is given by the rudimentary English of the staff at the gate. But for a self exploring drive actually no guide is needed. The park is located about 1 hour drive south west of Hami. You need your own car/driver to get to the park and especially to get around in the park. Access without own vehicle is not possible (first attraction is 8 KM from the gate)The entrance fee is 50,- RMB / person. We travelled the Silk Road from Urumuqi to Dunhuang and visited the park as a road side attraction to get a closer view at the desert. We spend two hours there hiking hills and taking pictures. It was a fun afternoon activity well worth our time and money.
