Nice for a stroll, but not too interesting on its own. Conveniently located, however.Has loads of people exercising both in the morning and evening.

If I lived in Urumqi, likely this is where I would spend every Sunday. Groups of folk gathering to dance, sing, play music, write, or just enjoy. Stunning peony gardens, plenty of children's activities. A must see and do---lovely respite in the city.

stayed at the hotel facing the square n observed that there are continuos activities at the park by different group of locals. During the day, local of all ages gather at respective corners, enjoying the park. Parents with kids playing, adult men playing chinese chess, youngsters busy with remote control cars, kite flying n others. At night time, various dance groups gather to practise. Dogs start appearing with their owners.Interesting to observe the local culture n activities.An interesting observation is the sight of police vehicles at all time around the square.
