Climbed up to the lighthouse on a very stormy and rainy day, quite an adventure for me.But once you reached the top, you will find it worth the effort of braving through the storm to get here. There is a small gallery and display of the lighthouse's history and the view is just breathtaking, and brings a sense of peace and calm while enjoying the view. Made friends with the guard dog too. Must visit while in Kaohsiung.

The path from the adjacent fort connects to the lighthouse as well. The entire lighthouse compound is extremely well maintained. There is a small museum that includes some interesting navigation instruments as well as photos of other lighthouses in Taiwan. The views, however, are really why you visit - incredible, overlooking the inlet to Kaohsiung Harbor, Sun Yat-sen University, Cijin Island and the South China Sea.

The lighthouse did not appeal as much to us as compared to the view outside. Outside the lighthouse, we got a pretty nice view of Cijin Island and its surrounding. The staircase-climbing towards the top took some great effort but it was worth it.

I did not climb up the Lighthouse but viewed it from a short distance. The view was simply beautiful. As I have read up about it before I went to Kaohsiung, I knew what I was looking at, I mean, the story about and behind it, and I really could appreciate what I was seeing. I would recommend this place highly to any first time visitor to Cijin Island, Kaohsiung.

Great view after a nice walk up, take photos, great also if you have young kids. There is very little on display so enjoy the lighthouse for what is there.
