Our adventure day was gloomy with scatted showers in the forecast. Instead of risking another shower underneath the rain clouds, we came across the Penghu Aquarium and spent a few hours just browsing around. Admission was cheap enough. We missed the tour buses and field trips so our experience was pretty great. We wandered aimlessly for hours and looked at deformed sea turtles, giant manta rays, colorful fish, and their touch pool.I think they used to have some kind of outdoor nursery/fishery, but it looks like it's been closed down for a while now. There's an access path from the aquarium to this area, which is a nice view in itself. There's plenty to see and buy at their extra large souvenir shop. We opted for the ice cream vending machines. =)

Nice world-class aquarium. Not huge, but plenty of sea life from the Taiwan straits on display, including a cool walk-through tunnel with sharks, manta rays and some really huge fish swimming by. Very affordable. Only around US$4 per person. Definitely don't miss one of the fish feeding times at 11am and 3pm. Quite the show! Great experience for the whole family, and one of the few activities available when the weather isn't friendly.

Not a huge aquarium, but plenty of local sea life to see. We came at 11am to see the feeding of the fish. Also a nice playground just outside for the little ones. Overall an enjoyable hour or two.
