We arrived on a cruise ship close to this attraction. Only problem is having to walk around motor scooters parked on the sidewalks. As we walked south Fromm this area we found lots of small shops and places for an informal bite to eat. Overall, it provides a feel that reminds me if Vietnam cities.

The plaza is clean and well decorated with colourful statues and gives the tourist a great welcome to the city. Great views of the harbour and surrounding hillsides. Plenty of things going on, especially the uniqe opportunity to view the Balck Falcons coming in to eat fish from the harbour.

ほかの方のクチコミを見て、数年前に大阪で見た「ラバーダック」がここにも来ていたことを知りました。ちょっとびっくり！それはともかく、港に近い大きな広場で、お店もたくさん出ていました。港町らしい、活気のある観光ポイントです。

2013-2014年は基隆で年越ししました。基隆港に「幸福黄鴨」ラバーダック（世界中を旅する黄色い巨大子アヒル）がきていました。連日ニュース番組で「基隆黄鴨」は報道されていて、黄鴨に会いに来た人・人・人で海洋広場は大賑わい。実は私はラバーダックプロジェクトを知らず‥日本にも来ていたんですね。とても愛くるしい表情の可愛いアヒルちゃんで、大人気なのはうなずけます。翌日港にその姿がなく‥どうしたものかと思っていたら不幸にも破裂、ビックリ（ニュースでみました）。2013年12/23に展示開始→12/31に破裂→2014年1/3に復活、基隆にくるのが一日遅かったら会えなかったカモ。

台湾鉄道基隆駅からずっと真っ直ぐのところにあります。私が訪れた時はラバーダックが訪台しており大変賑やかでした。
