嘉义城隍庙历史悠久，建于清朝时期，雕龙画凤，是嘉义庶民信仰中心，邻近周边也是美食小吃集散地，造访嘉义必定拜访之地，前往阿里山之前，可先踏查。

Built in 1715, this little temple has been the most important temple in Chiayi, which was the biggest county then. The main deity is sort of like the high court in both living and under worlds. So people who felt like they were ill-treated by the government could go to this temple to seek consolation.

We visited it in the early morning which was good because there were not a lot of people.It's a simple temple. The most interesting detail about it is the wood carvings.
