高雄忠烈祠座落于寿山南麓，瞰看高雄港、远眺高雄市区，气势雄伟，风景秀丽。忠烈祠原址为日本人建造的金刀比罗神社，民国34年台湾光复，政府为缅怀革命先烈英雄的英勇事迹，在此处因陋就简，原神社稍加修茸后，作为权充奉祀国军英灵之地。忠烈祠四周种满了古松，环境清幽，祠前绿意盎然、古色古香，建筑本体采用中国传统宫殿式的方法建造，除了前殿、正殿、山门以外，后有回廊楼台陪衬，屋顶为金黄琉璃瓦，屋脊配仙人走兽。后来更陆续增立牌坊及革命先烈史迹数据馆，为忠烈祠增添几分庄严宏伟的气势。整体的忠烈祠充满穆肃但带有休闲的气氛，白天是高雄市民乘凉观景的好去处，晚上更是欣赏高雄市区、港口夜景的好地方。

高雄是座被山海围绕的城市，位在寿山忠烈祠的观景台上，不仅可以远眺85大楼和市区景观，港口海景也一览无遗。忠烈祠的观景台建造价值虽很低，但带来的观光效益却非常高，周遭的花园造景小巧可爱，曾获得2013建筑园治奖的殊荣。而一旁的LOVE钢塑，更成为拍照打卡上传的热门新地标。寿山忠烈祠观景台白天夜晚各有不同的美感，白天山海景色壮阔清晰，夜晚灯火点点，更显浪漫。但因山路狭小，建议不熟的游客还是选择白天前往。

晚上夜景视线不错,很适合与朋友聊天看夜景,沿途山路灯光不至于昏暗,但有野狗所以还是要骑车小心,可以带点小东西到忠烈祠吃欣赏夜景

我是白天去的，高雄港景尽收眼底，相当壮观!!可以远眺85大楼与旗津，市景与海景融合相当美丽。此处有LOVE公共艺术与观景台，应该是约会好去处。日间夜间各有不同风味!!可惜战争纪念馆整修中，没有展览。

来高雄绝对不能错过高雄的夜景！在这里可以看到八五大楼及高雄港夜景更可以远眺梦时代摩天轮！十分建议可以去完旗津玩耍完在西子湾看夕阳、附近晚餐后再到此看夜景！

忠烈祠，现存多为中华民国政府于抗日战争后所建。在台湾为了“消除日本国家神道信仰痕迹”，原日治时期神社遂统一改为忠烈祠。目前大部分忠烈祠都分布在台湾各地，中国大陆只有南岳忠烈祠等少数保存较完好。，也是日本的忠烈祠。大陆若能胜利将来的中日一战，必毁其于无形，和族才会安份百年。

A very elaborate and disciplined group of young, good lookingguards on duty.It is worthwhile waiting to see the guards change duty with style and finese every hour. They were all synchronisingtheir steps and maintain good composure throughout.Though it is nice watching the change of guard duties,one cannot help but pity the young soldiers having toperform the duty and had to stand for an hour withoutmoving while carrying the heavy rifle and to guard theshrine.

To be true, the Shrine itself is not a big thing. Nice to take pictures, but no more thatn that.The main attraction is the view we have of Kaohsiung from there! It is amazing! Really worth a visit!

I came up here completely by accident as I was looking for the Buddhist Temple - with the large gold stupa on top. Regardless, my lack of direction brought me to a fantastic view over Kaohsiung City and Harbor. It was a Sunday evening and the place was quite crowded, but my view was completely unobstructed.

It boasts the best night view in Kaohsiung. Young adults come up here all the time with their loved ones, and it's a perfect spot for friends to just sit there and talk. You can take in the whole Kaohsiung in a sight.
