if you need a good workout, this is the place to go! do reserve the entire day as the complicated network of paths will take up at least 5 hours of your time to navigate around..

I loved hiking this mountain to the top. There are different paths, the one I chose was six miles to the top. It's great exercise and I was drenched with sweat, but the scenery is awesome. I thought it was a little odd they present you with hot tea at the top, when you are so hot already from climbing, but a nice gesture. My goal was to see monkeys. I did see monkeys and the barking deer, which was intriguing. However folks, remember you are not in a zoo. These monkeys are wild and if they even think you may have food, will come out of the woodwork. I saw one monkey on a fence and opened my bag. Within seconds, there were 30 monkeys coming out from every direction and their face meant business. It's pretty scary. So be wary and know those monkeys mean business! Do not bring anything on your person that they may want, because they don't seem afraid of humans. Otherwise, it's a great hike!!

You can park for a low price at the nearby school lot like we did. Didn't get to see many monkeys this time, but the hike itself made it all worth it. It was very hot and humid the day we went; I don't remember ever sweating so much. Bring lots of water. The entire mountain is like a giant stairmaster workout.

This is an awesome place to see, learn, watch, climb and excerise. Bring water so that you can stop take a break and enjoy the monkeys that are walking around. Monkeys are really neat so bring a camera! Do not feed them it's against the law. My husband and I hiked all 4 trails or so that they had monkey mountain which, was so full. Big monkeys small monkeys baby monkeys....monkeys were everywhere. Their were men who carried water to the top of the mountain when they pass by they were sweating and trust me it's a "good" hike! So bring your own water. Those men work very hard for others! But this place has amazing views at the top mountain and amazing animals to see!
